That moment of pure satisfaction when you finally hit your morph stance perfectly. 😤 The Power Rangers Preservation Project Presents Forever Red Morphs: Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver! @jdfffn runs through the morph call for Zeo Ranger V before his suit actor steps in for the power pose. Given Jason’s birthday yesterday, we thought it was the perfect occasion to share lost footage from his morph — which we think gives a heartwarming glimpse back at the man who gave us the legend as he works to get his morph just right. Ninja Steel Gold / Levi Weston’s Hero Ninja Comm. The Ninja Comms were created by Mick and [to an extent] Brody as the team’s communicators, reverse-engineered from the Warrior Dome’s Data Comms. The Data Comms were designed to interface with the Warrior Dome and serve as a tool for Galaxy Warrior contestants to analyze their opponents, which Brody continued to briefly leverage post-escape to gain an advantage against his foes. Once Galvanax caught on, Brody’s access was quickly cut off — prompting Mick to fabricate the Ninja Comms as an alternative. The weathered faceplate of the Comm features the Ninja Nexus Prism outline, which can spring open outward in-show to reveal a screen within when triggered by the green button [making the Comm appear like a wrist-mounted Ninja Star]. The cast’s hero Ninja Comms, like Levi’s seen here, were rendered as solid static molds and did not open. A key hero beauty prop with an actualized opening faceplate was leveraged by production when the script called for it; but everyday usage was left to these static versions. ‘Levi Hero’ is written inside the wristband. Flash ⚡️ Fact: Toy versions of the Ninja Comms were released overseas that largely resembled both the design and functionality of the actualized prop version; albeit much cleaner and not distressed. If you’re lucky enough to track one down, you’ll have what’s pretty close to the hero! Powered by Patreon Supporters like Rizwan Merchant. The #PowerRangersPreservationProject Presents Operation Overdrive Screen Tests: The Rangers! In addition to capturing each of the series regular cast on camera individually, the core five Rangers also shot indoor tests on the Hartford Mansion set together in both their civilian styling and mission uniforms. For the purposes of this chemistry test, they only shot the mission uniforms in their commonly seen standard mode with full jacket sleeves only, and did not test them together in their short-sleeved variants. The group action posing in their Overdrive Mission Uniforms demonstrates the unique styling per uniform, with each color’s uniform featuring individualized design elements while still maintaining the base uniform look across the team. Featuring @RhodaMontemayor as Rose [Pink], Gareth Yuen as Dax [Blue], James Maclurcan as Mack [Red], Caitlin Murphy as Ronnie [Yellow], and Samuell Benta as Will [Black]. Abandoned Cosmic Fury “Special Hero Blaster” Concept Art. The would-be Cosmic Blaster featured two modes: a battle-ready Action Mode, and an extended / powered-up Blaster Mode powered by a Cosmic Orb. Once activated, the colorful semicircle surrounding the Cosmic Orb Port illuminated with the six core Cosmic Ranger colors: Red, Orange, Gold, Green, Blue, and Black — no Zenith. The front of the Blaster features the familiar Chromafury Saber Hilt-inspired Dino Bust with a blast opening at the end of the barrel — a design ultimately integrated into the Cosmic Morpher. Whether the Cosmic Morpher was intended in addition to or in place of this design isn’t currently known; though there is certainly a redundancy in capabilities that could indicate an eventual consolidation of concepts. In the final show as-aired, the Cosmic Morphers had a built-in blaster functionality, serving as both a morpher and a primary sidearm. It’s been three years since Cosmic Fury premiered — and nearly five since this early development concept art by Production Designer Tracey Collins! Resurrected Vypra lights the final torch before beginning the summoning ritual for the Super Demon Quarganon in this exclusive still from the Lightspeed Rescue / Time Force crossover. The Self-Proclaimed Princess of All Demons, Vypra [Jennifer L. Yen] was previously consumed by Queen Bansheera for her life energy, allowing the Queen to regain corporeal form. Nearly a year later, Vypra rose from the undead and teamed up with Ransik and his mutants [and robots] to secure the Solar Amulet needed to perform this ceremony. Vypra’s own resurrection is never explained, but perhaps could have been brought about as a matter of sheer will — her spirit ripping itself from the Shadow World to exact vengeance on the Rangers; though it was ultimately her own Queen that betrayed [see: ate] her. Vypra was styled more terrifying than her original demon form, given white contacts and dark make-up to give her a darker edge. And it really works here! Despite the Rangers’ last-minute intervention, Quarganon’s resurrection was successful — but he and Zombie Vypra were still no match for two Battlizers and three Mega Battles. The original air date for the episode was about two and a half weeks after the September 11 attacks, and thus the firepower on-screen used to eliminate the demons was toned down to a minimum in the final air. Turbo: A Power Rangers… Adventure? First Look at the Turbo Movie’s Early Title + Title Treatment, courtesy of the 20th Century Fox 1997 Winter/Spring Preview. The film had previously been titled Power Rangers: Race to the Volcano, and would later change once again to swap ‘Adventure’ for ‘Movie.’ The two-page spread didn’t include a synopsis, nor did it reveal Justin as the New Blue Ranger — but it did feature a morphed + helmeted kid-sized Blue Ranger standing in front of Mountain Blaster. Early Development for Mystic Force’s Legend Mode and Manticore Megazord. The looks had yet to be finalized for Magiranger when shared during pre-production on Mystic Force for early season planning. The Ranger Legend Mode Armor seen here [“Super Mode”] features different armor and less embellishments on the gloves and boos, while the Manticore Megazord features the most differences from the final design between coloring and design. Originally shared as an earlier exhibit when the print-outs were captured with a camera, these updated shots leverage scans to create a higher quality render. Nate Silva’s Grid Battleforce ID Badge Hero Prop. Worn on-screen by @_abrahamrod, the badge retains the original retractable badge holder that attached to Nate’s lab coat at Grid Battleforce HQ. His ID Number is GB16/834 while Zoey’s is GB21/896 — though they both share the same bar codes at the bottom of their respective IDs. A child prodigy whose journey largely mirrored that of RPM’s Dr. K, Nate reverse-engineered Ranger Tech and developed Morph-X for Grid Battleforce — taking residence as their head scientist and later becoming the Gold Ranger. Fun fact, if I remember correctly, @yoshi_sudarso also did the Hollywood Christmas parade as Robo Knight. It wasn’t easy but he saw it through.
Whoahhh I’ve never seen these pics of me! This was a HARD day on set. But @misty_flores took care of me and I made a forever friend that day!

Unedited Robo Knight Harness Poses from the Megaforce Promo Shoot. These photos captured the suited Megaforce @PowerRangers in a variety of action and power poses, which would be leveraged for different promotional materials such as posters, ads, and DVD covers. Robo Knight was one of his mentor Gosei’s earliest creations: a Robo Ranger with artificial consciousness with the sole mission to protect the Earth. With most of his time spent dormant compared to other sentient robots like Alpha 5 or Tensou, Robo Knight did not develop social skills on the level of his peers — presenting much more robotic in nature. Robo Knight’s exposure to the Megaforce Team allowed him to become more human in a sense; making his ultimate sacrifice all the more heartbreaking when he gave up his life force to save Orion — his spirit forever living on through the Andresian. Flash ⚡️ Fact: Robo Knight was voiced by Chris Auer — 1st Assistant Director on MMPR Productions 2nd Unit from MMPR thru Wild Force. Chris returned to New Zealand as 2nd Unit’s AD for Megaforce and Super Megaforce, loaning his voice to Robo Knight in the process. Powered by Patreon Supporters like Rizwan Merchant. A Copy of SPD Executive Producer @gregaronowitz’s Annotated Script from Endings Part I — the first half of the two-part series finale — reveals original monster names for Broodwing’s Generals! Their names were never spoken aloud, and only one was formally named in the end credits as “Crabhead” — though somehow, inaccurate information [perhaps fan-given names?] has infiltrated most Ranger Fan databases, dubbing “Monster #1” as “Spiketor” and “Monster #2” as “Lazor.” These script pages reveal that not only were all three generals named; but none of those original names made it past the scripting stage! The monster dubbed “Crabhead” was originally CRABBOR — both versions appear in the pages here. Monster #1 / “Spiketor” was named MACE, and Monster #2 / “Lazor” was named STINGA. Wes Collins' Trademark Red Shirt Wardrobe, accessorized with a screen-used Chrono Morpher. The high-quality dress shirt has fine finishing details like a covered placket / fly front, reflecting Wes’ high society status — coming from a powerful family with a lot of money. Mirroring his openness to embracing his own destiny, Wes [@TheJasonFaunt] wore the shirt loose and open with pushed-back sleeve cuffs; still a part of the fabric of his character, but worn in his own style. Time Force continued Saban’s Post-Zordon-Era trend of primarily styling the Rangers in one trademark outfit throughout the season; Wes’ shirt was usually worn with khakis and a white tank top, and was worn throughout the season — including the final scene of the series finale and the Time Force / Wild Force crossover. PLEX Style Guide Reference for the Wind Rangers’ Combination Weapon — The Storm Striker in Red, Blue, and Yellow Formations. The ordering of the weapons determined its special attack: Storm Striker Red was the most common and shot an energy blast; Storm Striker Yellow trapped the target in an implosive sound barrier; and Storm Striker Yellow dropped a hammer-like weight onto its opponents. Storm Striker Yellow is the required compatible mode to dock with the Thunder Blaster and form the Thunderstorm Cannon. Renders dated October 9, 2001.
