As baffling and irresponsible as that sounds, the bigger concern is this: the so called president @HassanSMohamud whose primary duty is to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, openly declares that half the country has broke out.
Who exactly is he blaming for that failure? And how does he say such a thing without recognizing what it says about his own leadership?

The law of unintended consequences is proving to be as consequential as ever. Two countries Pakistan and Iran have emerged from this conflict more empowered, more influential, and more central to the new global order than almost anyone anticipated. Few could have predicted such a dramatic reversal of fortunes.
At the outset of what many now view as a misguided American confrontation with Iran, the dominant Western narrative cast Iran as a vulnerable target an easy opponent meant to “teach a lesson” and score quick strategic points. Yet, as the Somali poet Ismail Mire warned, “Ragoow kibirku waa lagu kufaa kaa hala ogaado” unrestrained hubris inevitably leads to a painful fall.
Three months later, the landscape has transformed. Iran now sits firmly in the driver’s seat, wielding significant leverage to shape the terms of engagement, while Pakistan has stepped forward as a pivotal regional actor. A tectonic shift is unfolding before our eyes at breathtaking speed, reshaping alliances and power centers as the American empire confronts the reality of its diminishing influence.
I am honoured to announce that the historic ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ has been electronically signed today between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Memorandum has been signed by honourable Presidents of both the countries and also endorsed by me as the mediator. The signing of this agreement at the highest level of the respective governments demonstrates the commitment of both sides to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict. Islamabad MoU shall enter into force with immediate effect and as a first step, Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade.
I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump whose steadfast commitment to diplomacy and preference for peaceful resolution have once again helped end a conflict that could have led to devastating consequences for the region and beyond. I also commend the dedication and tireless efforts of the United States negotiating team, including J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for their invaluable contributions to this achievement.
I express my profound respect and appreciation to His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran and President Masoud Pezeshkian for their wisdom, foresight and statesmanship in embracing the cause of peace. I also wish to recognize the efforts of the Iranian negotiating team, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Eskandar Momeni, whose patience, perseverance and commitment to constructive engagement were instrumental in bringing this agreement to fruition.
I would especially like to acknowledge the sincere efforts and constructive engagement of the leadership of the State of Qatar in helping reach this point. I also highly commend the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Republic of Egypt for their indispensable role and invaluable contributions in this regard.
I would also like to make special mention of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose tireless efforts, selfless dedication and instrumental role were critical in facilitating this breakthrough and advancing the cause of peace and regional stability.
May this Memorandum of Understanding serve as an enduring foundation for greater understanding, mutual respect and shared prosperity for the complete region.

It’s business as usual no concern, no condemnation, no public outrage, no urgency. Just smiles all around, because his bottom line keeps growing.
A real leader confronted with such existential crisis would set aside everything else and use every tool at his disposal to deal with the problem.

We stand with Omar Abdulkadir Artan.
It is deeply disappointing and regrettable that Omar was denied entry to the United States, preventing him from officiating at the FIFA World Cup despite earning his place through talent, professionalism, integrity, and years of hard work.
Omar was not selected because of his nationality. He was selected because he is one of Africa’s finest referees and the 2025 CAF Referee of the Year. His place at the World Cup was earned on merit.
It is therefore particularly troubling that a professional of his calibre appears to have lost this historic opportunity not because of his conduct, qualifications, or achievements, but because of the circumstances of his country of origin. Individuals should be judged by their character, accomplishments, and abilities, not by factors beyond their control.
This is a disappointment not only for Omar, but for Somalia, African football, and all those who believe that sport should transcend borders and reward excellence. While he has been denied the opportunity to officiate at this World Cup, nothing can diminish what he has already achieved. Omar remains a pioneer, a role model, and a source of immense pride for Somalia.
We stand with Omar. We stand for fairness, equal opportunity, and the principle that excellence should be recognized regardless of nationality or origin.

The chaos ripping through Mogadishu didn’t erupt overnight. its fuse was lit in the early months of @HassanSMohamud’s regime , when the SNA was sliced along clan lines and weapons were handed out like candy. That reckless fragmentation is now exploding in real time.
Villa Somalia’s new spin? That the gov is merely “disarming clan militias.” The irony is staggering ! these are the same militias it armed in the first place. It would be laughable if the fallout weren’t deadly.
The capital is now a blur of uniforms, clan fighters, and armed groups so indistinguishable no one can tell who is SNA, who is militia, or who is simply armed because everyone else is.
