Joe Burrow is the NFL’s highest rated passer since 2021 at 103.2. 70 games and 2,505 pass attempts. An elite number. Sustained over a massive sample. #WhoDey

Burrow is 1-34 when trailing late? That doesn’t tell the story. Fitz dove deep on the facts: “There are 27 times were Joe had the ball with under 4 minutes, but had the ability to tie the game or take the lead. He did it 18 of the 27 times… Pretty good rate if you ask me.”

Are we believing in #WhoDey as legit contenders after two very good defensive performances to start the season? #NFL @espnnfl

It shouldn’t get lost in picking apart everything the Texans did wrong that Cincinnati deserves a ton of credit too. That Bengals defense looked legit. Their interior DL was dominant, the pass rush was overwhelming and the coverage held up extremely well behind it. Whatever you think of Houston’s OL, Cincinnati’s front deserves credit for completely taking over the game and making the offense one dimensional. That defense looks a hell of a lot better than many expected coming into the season. And offensively when Cin needed plays, Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins made them. Plenty for Houston to fix, but plenty of credit due to the Bengals too.

Amarius Mims allowed 0 pressures on 34 pass block snaps today vs. the Texans and Will Anderson/Danielle Hunter, per PFF initial charting. If that holds, that will be zero pressures on 70+ pass block snaps to start the season. He’s quickly becoming an elite RT.
Amarius Mims allowed 0 pressures on 37 pass block snaps today vs. the Bucs and primarily Rueben Bain, per PFF initial charting. Would be the highest pass block grade of his career if it holds. Definitely looked like that good of a game.

The #Bengals’ defense today vs. the Texans: • 6 points allowed (no TDs) • 4 sacks • Held David Montgomery and Woody Marks to 18 combined rushing yards Cincy is 2-0 to start the season.
If the #Bengals’ defense is even average, they’re Super Bowl contenders. If it’s better than that, they could be the NFL’s best team with Joe Burrow. Discussed this with @SamMonsonNFL:
