As a college coach, I never used a recruiting service. I didn’t talk to AAU coaches. And I only talked to HS coaches once I started going to recruits HS games.
That’s why I’m good now when college coaches and our AAU players are handling their business. I don’t need the ego stroke of being involved, like so many do🙄
I’m there for them in any way that they need me. And I’ll always put them in positions to be successful💯 But the process is about the players, not their coaches

Incredible honor for Kalin Lucas this evening. Having had the opportunity to coach him at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s P'06, seeing the player, leader, and individual he has become makes this Hall of Fame recognition especially meaningful. Congratulations to Kalin — it most certainly is well earned.
The most rewarding part of this story is that he gives back at school in some way nearly every week since his playing career ended.
