“Instead of respecting the law, those in power invoke it when it serves their interests and disregard it when it restrains them, treating even justice itself as though it were a commodity to be bought and sold.” — Pope Leo XIV

Here is Father Mychal Judge in his last moments. His mind is stirring and soul is heavy. It’s as if he knows. He whispers prayers to himself and for the tragic events happening above him. He unfortunately would not survive the collapse of the south tower as debris fell on top of him in the north tower (as seen here). The next scene is Batallion Chief Pfeifer’s brother Kevin, also deep in his thoughts and what he is seeing in front of him, who also tragically did not survive as the North tower collapsed.

“Guys, they want us to go home.” 🔥 🇫🇷 French short film about what would happen to society if all the immigrants listened to angry old racist white men and left (aka the Republican agenda)

*BRILLIANT* The French made a short film about what could happen after all immigrants would follow the ‘_white, angry old man’s_’ advice to go back where they came from.*

Father Mychal Judge was a Franciscan Friar who served as Chaplain for the New York Fire Department. While staying in the lobby of the North Tower to offer comfort, absolution, and last rites, Father was the official first fatality of 9/11 after the tower was hit with debris from the collapse of the South Tower. This was the final homily he gave to the NYFD the day before dying in the World Trade Center. Never forget the priests who will face danger to give us the necessary sacraments.

FACT: Zohran Mamdani was the ONLY senior most elected official who stayed after the 9/11 Memorial ended. He spoke with Massali Jr., the last person to read the names at the ceremony.

Father Francis Grogan, was a Catholic priest aboard United Airlines Flight 175 when it was hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists on September 11, 2001. He is believed to have prayed with and comforted fellow passengers in the final moments before the plane crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

A hero of September 11 was a gay Catholic priest, perhaps one day to be recognized as a saint. He doesn't fit in anybody's box, but God's. Father Mychal Judge. Remember.

A true 9/11 survival story, as told by Brian Clark and Stanley Praimnath. Two strangers, three floors apart in the South Tower. Told as closely as I could to their own public accounts.

After 9/11, Sesame Street aired four episodes to help children (and grown-ups) process fear and grief. In this episode, which aired in 2002, Elmo learns to face his fear with help from the FDNY firefighters — a reminder that even when we're scared, someone is there to keep us safe. #NeverForget

On September 11, 2001, firefighters carried the body of FDNY chaplain Fr. Mychal Judge to this altar, knelt before his remains, and prayed the words of St. Francis: “Lord, make me a channel of your peace.” Moments later, doctors and emergency workers took the parish’s altar cloths and linens outside to bandage the wounded and dying on the church steps. Catholics believe that on those linens, through God’s redeeming love, bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. That morning, the same cloth went to heal the broken bodies of New York.

The last voice at Ground Zero today belonged to Catholic Michael Massaroli, whose father was killed in the North Tower 25 years ago. “I’ve had to grow up and spend the past 25 years seeing people use it to hate on our Muslim brothers and sisters. That’s wrong.”
