Despite all the money, fancy marketing and hype, Helen Zille actually underperformed expectations in Johannesburg, securing 35% compared to projections of 41–42%.
I think the DA is generally satisfied with the election results, but I suspect they were hoping for more.
Nationally, they're sitting at around 24%, below the 2016 result under Mmusi Maimane and well short of the 29% they were reportedly targeting.

Corruption must be treated as public enemy number one. No protecting corrupt politicians.
2️⃣ 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘
Municipal services must reach ALL communities, regardless of where people live or which party they voted for.
3️⃣ 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
Coalition partners must support ActionSA’s position on removing undocumented foreign nationals from municipalities.
