K9 Zoli found the man dozens of deputies couldn't, and it took him a few minutes.
He's the newest dog at the Martin County Sheriff's Office. Some first impression.
One Thursday afternoon in April, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper was cuffing a man on I-95 in Palm City when he broke loose. Into the bushes, over a wall, gone. Deputies everywhere. Nothing.
Then Deputy Cam White brought Zoli. Zoli stuck his head in the brush and knew. "Come out now. You're going to get dog bit." Silence. Bite command. Zoli dragged Jaime Silvabernal out so White could see his hands. Cuffs, jail, back to the troopers.
"If we didn't have the K-9... we would not have found him," Sgt. Christian Crandall said.
Good boy. Credit Martin County SO for the bodycam.
