The best part: the new Worlds Explorer is available as free hosted service for Redstone, Pyrope and Garnet at explorer.mud.dev. And it ships with all MUD templates to support your local development.
Feeling lucky today?
Were you ever hit by an encoded custom error or needed to know what’s behind the raw hex of a function call? Next time, just use the World Explorer to decode it.
15/ And MUD Day is a WRAP! We’re still here in the gaming corner playing @CafeCosmosHQ as the day wraps up.
Thank you to our whole community, our contributors, every single player of MUD games, and Autonomous World enthusiasts! We couldn’t do it without you!
13/ Now @y77cao takes the stage to talk about the different types of financialization in onchain games, and her work on the in-game economy of @mirage_game_.
10/ We are starting back up again with afternoon talks! Next up is @CCP_Overload presenting on meaningful virtual worlds, and how to create them onchain.
6/ We are taking a rollicking tour through the engineering decisions of MUD games built by the legendary @0xsmallbrain and playing the game “are you smarter than small brain?”
Come by to find out whether you’d be able to build as good as small brain.
5/ Our stage is now graced by Ethereum OG @juanfranblanco, who’s presenting on how Nethereum, Unity, Blazer, and MUD work together to create onchain games.
Juan’s MUD x Nethereum integration is enabling Unity apps for tons of MUD projects!
4/ Next up is @dhrunym from @biomesAW (which you all played during our lunch break) on expanding onchain GDP and building playful, meaningful Autonomous Worlds.
3/ And now MUD core dev @frolic takes the stage to showcase how to build a MUD project…in 20 minutes. He’s showcasing a bunch of new MUD features, including the World Explorer!
1/ Welcome back to afternoon sessions for MUD Day.
Up first is @l_udens presenting on Quarry, a new offering from @latticexyz that enables superior latency, onboarding, scalability, and affordability for Autonomous Worlds. And yes it runs Doom.
1/ @mud_dev has always been and will always be open-source and under the MIT license.
But for our peripheral services and execution environment, it’s been hard for developers to peer under the surface.
We’re working toward a MUD Standard World Interface to fix this.
16/ Morning sessions for MUD Day have all been presented! Come by our gaming corner at lunch to play some @biomesAW!
At 1pm we’ll be kicking off afternoon sessions, with @l_udens presenting “Something new from @latticexyz.” See you there!!
15/ For our final morning presentation before lunch (and game demos in our gaming corner…come to Classroom A at the Devcon venue) we have @dhvanipa from @biomesAW presenting on their fully onchain iteration of Minecraft built with MUD and running on @redstonexyz!
14/ Now we have @YeomenAI up showcasing the incredible dashboards they’ve made for teams like @biomesAW, @EVE_Frontier, This Cursed Machine, and @skystrifeHQ. This is ALL made possible by the MUD data model and the fact that everything is onchain.
9/ Now we have @TuyenDinhAnh from @4thekingdom_xyz, presenting on their fully onchain MMORPG with an open economy that empowers players to create and monetize their own story and content.
8/ Next up we have @CCP_Overload demoing the latest gameplay from @EVE_Frontier, a new harsh frontier in onchain gaming, in an expansive, openly programmable player sandbox.
5/ Next up is @k1rill_fedoseev from @blockscoutcom with a 2-in-1 hitter: demonstrating how Blockscout enabled an in-depth MUD World explorer on the @redstonexyz block explorer!
2/ A realtime history of MUD with our very own @_alvarius kicks off.
From Dark Forest to projects like @EVE_Frontier and @biomesAW (and all the learnings in between). How did we get here, and how has our community built ambitious onchain projects and scaled Autonomous Worlds?
1/ MUD Day morning sessions are starting!! Come to Classroom A at the Devcon venue. We’ll be sharing community demos, presentations, and more about Quarry, our modern computing environment for Autonomous Worlds.
4/ To access it, simply start with any of the templates in MUD, and World Explorer will be integrated right from the start. No additional setup needed! You can also find our source code and contribute here: github.com/latticexyz/mud/tr…
3/ With World Explorer, you can visually inspect contract states and interact with the world you’re working on. It’s like having an Excel sheet that exposes the entire world’s state, allowing you to make changes directly without manual calls.
🌐 1/ Today we’re introducing World Explorer: a new tool designed to make inspecting and interacting with your world in MUD more intuitive and efficient, in our MUD v2.2 release.
9/ We’ve described the config in depth in our docs (mud.dev/config). You can upgrade your existing MUD project with `pnpm mud set-version --tag latest` or start a fresh one with `pnpm create mud@latest my-world`.
7/ And, since our client is now aware of these tables across namespaces, we can render guild members in our UI with strongly-typed objects synced automatically from the chain.
5/ Once your config is using the `namespaces` option, your project’s source directory must also follow a similar structure: a `namespaces` directory with each namespace nested within it.
4/ For projects that want to build on top of existing worlds or make use of use multiple namespaces, the v2.1 release includes a new `namespaces` option in your MUD config.
1/ Today, we’ve released MUD v2.1 which adds support for multiple namespaces in your MUD project. This is a backward-compatible change and just one of a handful of “world extendability” releases we have planned for the next few months.
