🚨TRENDING: Bitget lost $100 million today.
Not to a hacker.
To their own trading bot.
Here's what actually happened.
A market-making bot ran on a 3-second cycle.
It glitched. Prices went wrong. The window stayed open for about two hours.
Traders noticed before Bitget did.
They drained ~$100M out of it.
Then they moved the profits into BNB and SOL and cashed out.
By the time anyone confirmed what was happening, the money was gone.
Here's the part nobody's saying loud enough:
🚨 Nobody broke in.
No private key was compromised. No firewall was breached. No hacker outsmarted anyone.
The system that was supposed to price assets correctly just... stopped doing that.
And the first people to notice got paid.
That's the risk you're not pricing in when you leave your crypto on an exchange.
Not the hack you can imagine. The malfunction you can't.
Because with a hack, at least there's a villain. Someone to blame, a case to open, a chance the funds come back.
With a glitch, there's just a bug. And a company deciding how much it owes you.
