Turned into a nice project that taught me a lot, in particular about DNA supercoiling.
In our most recent work David Forrest has discovered a widespread mechanisms linking transcription initiation to DNA supercoiling...

Really excited to share this. A massive effort from @mulecc.
We find that H-NS isn't just for gene silencing. All this time it's been busy capturing transposons, and inserting them into bound DNA.
We think there are some big implications (1/4)
