I keep reading people trying to make sense of Trump’s behavior with normal human schemas. This will never work. He doesn’t possess what makes one human. Quit trying to apply human emotions, qualities, traits, desires, motivations, reasoning to him. They don’t apply.

Remember that the secondary abuse by the people who see the malignant narcissist’s abuse and know he is compromised, exploitative, and evil, and do nothing to stop it, is usually experienced as a greater violation than the primary abuse.
Yes, the gaslighting feels surreal, outside the realm of normal existence. Trump’s psychopathology relies on the target feeling that their behavior is too evil to be true, so we must be the ones losing our minds.
