At the PMNCH Accountability Breakfast on the sidelines of #UNGA81 in New York, Union Health Secretary Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava highlighted how accountability is an inbuilt feature of India’s health system. She outlined how the National Health Mission (NHM) supports States with financial and technical assistance for women, children and adolescent health, with priorities discussed through Programme Implementation Plans and placed in the public domain, promoting transparency and accountability. She highlighted outcome-based incentives for States to encourage healthy competition and better health outcomes, along with digital systems ensuring funds reach intended beneficiaries. She further underlined the role of Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) gap assessments in identifying infrastructure and service-delivery gaps, while National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) enable health facilities to systematically address these gaps and improve quality of care. She also highlighted equity under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, one of the world’s largest health assurance schemes, with women accounting for nearly half of its beneficiaries. #PMNCH #HealthForAll #UNGA81

We’ve successfully wrapped up two impactful days of The National Dialogue Series:- 📍 15th Sept 2026 — National Dialogue on Building Consensus for HPV DNA Screening & Cervical Cancer Elimination in India 📍 16 Sept 2026 — Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable: Accelerating Progress Towards #CervicalCancerMuktBharat Over these two days, we had participation from key stakeholders across the ecosystem, including #MoHFW, @NHSRCINDIA , State Govt Representatives from Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Delhi, Uttarakhand , #NCIAIIMS, @icmr_nicpr, Medical Societies & public health experts, researchers, CSOs, technology partners & global health institutions. Each brought a different perspective to the table, like policy and programmes, technical expertise, research and evidence, state-level implementation, clinical care, technology, and public health. As a collective step forward, we also signed a #CalltoAction, reaffirming our commitment to stronger collaboration, evidence-based approaches, better implementation & sustained action towards #HPVDNAscreening & Cervical Cancer Elimination in India  Heartfelt thank you to all our partners, speakers, collaborators, and supporters who contributed their time, insights, and continued support in making these conversations meaningful.
