People think ADHD is just being scatterbrained.
But when we say:
“I’m fine.” — We’re overwhelmed.
“I’ll do it later.” — We’re frozen.
“I forgot.” — We’re drowning in noise.
“I just couldn’t.” — We mean it.
ADHD isn’t a lack of effort.
It’s executive dysfunction. Time blindness. Emotional paralysis.
Even asking for help feels like a whole other task.
(Who to ask? What for? Will it burden them? And if I could explain it... Maybe I could just do it myself.)
What can help:
🤝 Try body doubling
👀 Use visual reminders
⏸ Take breaks between tasks
🎯 Focus on one task at a time
🧩 Break tasks into micro-steps
🚶♀️ Do tiny tasks to build momentum
🆘 Try asking for help—even if you don’t have it all figured out
You are not your productivity.
You are still worthy. Just as you are.
