I spoke with friends & family in Iran last week. They said they are not experiencing shortages & paychecks continue to be on time. People forget that Iran is near food sovereign & has a thriving biomedical industry. The sanctions aren't working as intended.

I can see both sides of this. I think holding teachers to higher standards only works in a society that values them rather than making them the frequent butt of jokes
