ALT Disruption update: Tuesday 22 September 2026 “I’m sorry for delays to passengers this morning due to a problem with the signalling system at Manchester Piccadilly station. ”We’re fixing a cabling fault which means trains can’t use platform 8 at the station. While we are working hard to fix the problem and looking to get services back to normal later this morning, it is causing delays and cancellations right now. “Please check National Rail Enquiries before you set off on your journey today, and we’ll be posting regular updates on our repair plan.” Clare Waller Area Director for Manchester
