actually believe that the meme:meme pairings are going to be some of the most aggressive catalysts for rerating pump coins, there are so many coins that launch daily, & the serial deployers are usually same cohort of long term holders of pump coins

just shipped a neet little page to track all custom pairs & holder rewards on Pumpfun since we've been seeing so many interesting examples of custom pairings on pump
memes paired with memes are some of the more interesting examples we've seen - not only do memes:memes introduce a new dimension to onchain speculation, they also *massively* benefit the underlying token
derivatives have long been controversial due to them detracting from the OG token's momentum, however, the demand from traders to trade new & interesting tokens is undeniable
with custom meme pairings, derivatives feed directly into the underlying token's success; firstly by routing every single buy through the OG, and secondly by rewarding holders of the derivative with the OG token
all that being said, we'd love to hear what you'd like to see added to the dash!

some people see pumpfun losing, i see asymmetry
i have no personal issue with stonkfun and have actually traded quite a bit on it, but its naive to completely disregard pumpfun when they've shown time and time again that they're the most consistent when it comes to winning + sustaining mindshare
that's not to say they should be complacent, but competition aside, people have always suggested for pumpfun to allow users to pair coins with $pump
now the feature is finally here, but we still haven't seen a coin truly take off
i'm not sure what the leading pump pair will be, or if/when pump pairs will even start moving, but i do know that its objectively beneficial for pump pairs to perform well:
- a $pump paired coin going from 0 --> 1000 and marking the bottom of pumpfun sentiment would be great for the eco, and would also encourage more people to trade/deploy custom pairs on PF (more vol across diff sectors within PF)
- popularizing $pump pairs could decrease the ecosystems reliance on solana and make it its own "economy"
not to mention there are a ton of verticals the team could build using $pump pairs. a heavily suggested one is reworking their liquidity pools
pumpfun could seriously create a cool flywheel system, like we've seen in other ecosystems, if $pump pairs are more adopted (holding would be more incentivized as well, like everyone has said this entire meta)
- one issue people bring up regarding pumpfun is that its core audience would never be a buyer of $pump, unlike hyperliquid and its userbase
rewarding trenchers holding paired low caps with $pump could potentially solve this. many might not care, but this is something that could make a billion dollar coin be directly integrated with microcaps launched on PF
i usually hate using the "$x went y mc, $a should be able to go b mc" argument, but if people can truly get behind a pump paired coin, there is no ceiling
we've seen so many random 8 fig mc stock/alt paired runners across stonk & RH, and i think people have really forgotten what pumpfun is capable of producing
maybe im wrong and maybe people don't care, but that's also the point and part of what makes this so asymmetric
