Rotation was absolutely disgusting, in a good way. Lineup was absolutely disgusting, in a bad way.
Bullpen somehow got figured out and was elite by the end, but not before it was too late. That June Swoon cost us the division.
The 1 seed could have been ours. The AL was wide open. Dodgers look vulnerable. This was the year. The Baseball Gods are so cruel man.
About now I’d say “October baseball can change this narrative.” But we can’t do it without Judge. And even if he tries to come back, his achilles is a ticking time bomb. There is no happy ending to any of this. Oh and there won’t be a 2027 season. Everything sucks.

No, you’re right you didn’t. But allow me to express perhaps why you’re seeing that discourse and that’s because the Yankees don’t measure success based on division championships they on world championships. It’s a different standard here.

I’ve never seen a team with the resources they have so content with bad production at two hitting positions. Up until rice basically falling into their lap they had mediocre to bad production at 1st and 3rd base for years

They can make a deep run without him. The pitching is good enough and the offense is deep enough to beat division rivals. Just gotta be who they are and not try to do too much.
My expectations for the Yankees and the playoffs have not changed. They need to have a deep playoff run with or without Judge. They ran this back with the intent of winning because they believed in the depth they had. The news sucks but do your damn jobs. That’s it.
