reading some of these comments makes me realise that some americans genuinely think we use decimals when using celsius, and im pretty sure its cause they converted stuff and got like 24.3C and went "wow, cant believe that these europeans dont use whole numbers for temperature"
You only think this because you already mentally connect temperature to Fahrenheit. When Americans say it’s 72 degrees I have no idea what that’s supposed to feel like because I mentally connect temperature to Celsius. Percent hot is just cope

people complain about the windows api because its old and janky (true). But at least its consistent and well documented. on linux everything has 8 ways to do something, and half the time it depends on the window manager, and the best docs are a plain text page from 1999

Americans pissing and shitting about petrol being like $5 a gallon is kind of funny given that here in the UK it's hit the equivalent of like $8-9 /gallon

with reflections in video games, i never understood why, if you only had one mirror, you didnt just like, render the scene again from the mirrors perspective and project it onto that surface? Portal does that with its portals, so why did old games do a bucnh of bull to avoid that

I think I'd like a version of the internet that's basically exactly the same but it's impossible to connect to if you're in the USA

I feel like a lot of Minecraft mods, even a lot of popular ones, completely fail to capture both the art style and gameplay of Minecraft, and while being very well put together and have great graphics, feel kind of at at odds with the basegame

A lot of the time it's just kind of too high quality kind of? Like, too many animations, and too many polygons on the models, and menus that are reactive and fancy
21
I also feel like a lot of these mods are very horizontally wide instead of deep. For instance, I think Create and Irons Spells fall into this category.

i think a lot of indie games are kind of just creatively bankrupt and rely on internet memes and reddit humour, and that means that even if they become popular they leave zero impact.

people got so mad at this for some reason they started writing fanfiction about this guy in the comments.

It's kind of funny how like 90% of the most famous writers we're either the type to work 18 hours a day in a feverish state until they passed out, or spend 6 hours drinking whisky and pondering in their garden before writing 15 words at 7pm and going to bed.

whenever i talk about animation to people and realise half of them are only barely aware of the concept of drawing each frame individually.

i keep getting tweets about people talking about their AI coding setup like bro leave me alone i just actually like programming
17
i can confidently say i havent listened to any AI music my accident on spotify or whatever cause I would say a good 90% of my playlist are songs that released before the year 2000

C libraries are called things like 'libfgsad' and are used in every program ever, and yet somehow have zero documentation.
