I've been building basically every part of my wedding stack myself -- RSVP system, website, email comms, planning tools, payments, etc. Once it's is over I will try to package it up, or at least document what I did, for anyone foolish enough to do this too

wow...that is...intense...! Who knew you needed a second full time job hehe! I sent save the date through email, bought paper plates at walmart the week before and found some twinkle lights at a garage sale 😂

Do you think it’s worth it? My fiances mom joked to the planner we are software engineers so we should just build it ourselves But also it’s like $20/mo and im already overloaded so we’re just gonna buy lol

do not recommend for most ppl, but we are being obsessive about design, very very opinionated about who we work with (many of whom are small, regional biz or first-timers we want to give an opportunity to) we don't have a wedding planner, we like doing things from scratch def not a good idea for most ppl / not worth it in most cases

Thought about this when planning ours too. Then I realized how deceptively deep something like @Zola goes- RSVPs, registries, guest comms, payments, etc.

Def goes deep! I wound up trying to tackle all of those components and... it's actually gone ok. Thank god for all of the improvements in models since the beginning of the year, probably would have been a lot harder to manage everything if we were still on opus 4.5

What’s the payment for. For vendors??

We have to book all of the accommodations for our guests because of the venue (it's a summer camp with cabins - we are assigning ppl to cabins) So we need to figure out how to get reimbursed by guests for their rooms. The venue is not charging them directly
