I am announcing the Bell Tower Initiative. This is a crowdsourced effort to raise bronze church bells in American towns. The bells commemorate our ancestors who founded this country, and they stand as a reminder not to give up what they built. In each place we will look for local people willing to donate time and services. The materials get crowdfunded. What we put up is a real bronze bell on a simple iron frame, with a stone at the base for the people who helped. This can happen for as little as $20,000. Each bell is meant to cover about a twelve-mile radius. I think this may be one of the strongest ways we have to unify people and honor the Americans who built the country, with the most beautiful sounds, directly linked to ancestral memory and the divine.
