3. Websitekit also hits mainnet Websitekit, our developer SDK that includes the core contracts for PageMarkets, will also be going live on mainnet along with this update This means that if you're a developer and want to build your own version of PageMarkets on your own site, you can - right on mainnet with real USDG

Mainnet was the one major milestone we'd been working towards And it had blockers that were beyond our control - legal and security We tried to work around these as much as possible, but for reasons that we had no real say in, we had to delay things But with this behind us, we can now finally focus on what truly matters: growing PageMarkets and $WEBSITE

Dev: The last few days has been a marathon tying up a ton of loose ends and loose code as we prep for mainnet It's one thing to release something to the world on fake money; it's another to do it with real cash - and without the scope for an easy upgrade As I'm *just* about to hit the final command to deploy the contract to mainnet, I wanted to take this time to do two things: 1. Tell you about everything we've had to do over the last week to make this mainnet ready 2. Set expectations for what's to come in the next few weeks, months...years(?) So let's start with #1 We've been quieter over the last few days as we've wrangled out some of the final issues before mainnet. Some of the things we've worked on: 1. Moved the Escrow keeper service to a separate server altogether. Removes one central point of failure 2. Built in an automated CSAM reporting tool that doesn't force us to store offending material and reports directly to regulatory authorities 3. Added an emergency takedown tool for admins to take down ads with malicious code or links #2 and #3 were legal requirements as advised by my lawyer. In fact, most of the hold up over the last few days was in back and forth over legal issues and how much exposure we wanted to have as a platform and where our liabilities ended This brings us to the 2nd issue: Expectations Mainnet is a crucial milestone because it firmly, legally cements us as a real product I'm excited for it. As, I hope, are you. But mainnet also moves us firmly from crypto timelines to real-world timelines A month is an eternity in crypto. In the real world, that's barely enough to get you a meeting, let alone close a deal What we're trying to do here is entirely new and different. Serious traction will take serious time. Our model is superior in many, many ways, but it's not always clear to everyone at first glance And even if it was, a new player asking you to stick some code on your website is never an easy ask Will this hack my site? Will this hurt my SEO rankings? Will I get weird illegal ads? Will anyone even pay for this? These are are serious questions any publisher or advertiser will have And the only way to answer them is through the burden of real evidence and case studies So what I'm saying is: it will take time Time to win over big publishers. Time to win over big advertisers. Time to show everyone that this is a better model We might get lucky and hit a big catch right at launch. Or we might flail and flounder nibbling on tiny bites for months before nailing the big one Eitherways, I'm going to be here fighting out till the end - win or lose

We've submitted our extension to the Chrome app store. Approval depends entirely on Chrome's internal review and is beyond our control While we wait for Chrome store approval, you can still download the extension manually and test it out Download the package and follow the instructions here: pagemarkets.com/extension

An early release candidate for our Chrome extension that makes the job of picking slots far more intuitive will be submitted to Chrome store for approval tomorrow You'll also be able to bypass the store and download the developer apk directly Chrome store approvals can take a couple of days to several weeks so the earlier we do this the better

This isn't a meme We win this by onboarding publishers On that front, while we wait for feedback on the testnet, we're also building tools to make onboarding publishers as easy as possible The first tool that we'll launch along with mainnet is a Chrome extension that makes it dead easy for publishers to tokenize their sites An extension takes care of: - Dynamic content not being visible on the site picker - Content div identification - Site identification A beta is already live and you should be able to download it as a dev preview soon before it goes to the Chrome extension store

What's left to build? From a "does this work?" perspective? Nothing much. The product as it exists today is feature complete What's left to build are all the nice-to-have things, such as: - UI/UX improvements - Notifications - Better categorization and listing views - Design changes These will keep happening on a rolling basis; none of these are blockers for the next step Speaking of which...

What next? UI/UX fixes and improvements will keep shipping on a rolling basis We expect things to break That's okay - testnet is where we run this through the gauntlet (DMs are open both here and on Telegram to share any bugs) Barring some truly horrible bugs, if all things are good, we will push the contracts to mainnet, set the escrow window to 14 days, and flip the slots to USDG That's when the fake testnet money becomes real

4. Wallet Sign-in Given our focus on crypto markets in the initial run, we decided to remove the privy email sign in and offer wallet-first sign in instead From a normie UX perspective, probably not ideal, but as a crypto native, the flow will be much more intuitive to you now We also don't have to worry about custodying funds or sponsoring gas (a MAJOR bottleneck in privy email sign in adoption) If you made an account earlier, you'll want to logout and sign in again with your EVM wallet

2. Image Ads Image ads are the single biggest lever for PageMarkets' adoption, especially in crypto An image ad instantly turns ANY space on a website into an NFT We had to think a lot about this, especially image sizes and moderation: - A slot can have the same size as its parent container, OR - It can have one of 8 pre-selected sizes set by IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau) #1 is what most non industry people would want image slots to be - a free-for-all where anything goes But advertisers with any degree of experience know they have to stick to IAB guidelines We've decided to support both, though we would really prefer that publishers follow IAB guidelines - else they risk being fined by FTC

3. Moderation We've already covered moderation in an earlier post, but in case you missed it, here's the Tl;Dr: - Moderation is AI-first and on a per-site basis - Site owners decide their policies and can be as restrictive or permissive as they want - Both links and images are evaluated by AI before they're allowed to go live - Anything flagged goes into a moderation queue where the site owner can decide to okay or refuse it This gives complete power back to site owners - without relying on the platform for intervention (decentralization ftw!)

1. Escrow It quickly became clear to us that payments can and will be abused. Publishers will sell spaces and delete our code. Some others will sell spaces, delete the code, and add our code right before we crawl for the code To fix this, we had to rethink payments and escrow from scratch Our final solution was: - Separate escrow contract for every site. No centralization risk, minimal attack surface - A crawler that scans every listed site for our code snippet every 6 hours - A 14-day escrow timer that pauses every time our crawler doesn't find our code snippet on the site. Sell space > exit just causes the funds to be locked in escrow If a site owner fails to meet their end of the trade, a buyer can claw back their funds from the escrow wallet - minimal intervention from the platform For testnet, we've dropped the escrow window down to an hour just so users can test things out Technically, this was the most complex thing we had to build and we'll likely open source the escrow contract since it has uses elsewhere
