2k dug its own grave this year making the lockdowns so overpowered and will overcompensate with patches now to cover for it. People making 99 dunk builds to take contested drives and wanting contested shots to go in are all a product of it being so difficult to create enough space relative to the defense. It’s just too difficult for the majority to create space. If the movement wasn’t so nerfed we wouldn’t need for anything contested to go in and can then faithfully rely on a good contest system directly combating getting open shots to create the skill gap. The offense formidability compared to the defense is very clearly unbalanced and they will never address it because they are scared to death of “cheesing” despite not giving us limited competent movement to create space for open shots vs any competent lockdown spamming and bumping you.
