Currently working on Levers and Chests, a dungeon crawler roguelike roguelite.

In the original draft of Lord of the Rings, Mordor was just called Monslottir Indesekondegri.

I don't know if there were any work disputes during the filming of the original trilogy, but if there was I hope someone shouted "the entire strike's back!" at someone.

Has anyone tried to make workstaycation happen? It's like a workcation and a staycation. Sure, only one of those is an established term, but fusing them gives you a workstation.

Ok, fine, programming is a little bit solved. My only regret is the whole associated mega corporation owned AI thing and the descent into dystopia.

The spurious ray pixels rendering wrong after they hit a voxel too close to the edge to call it? They're still there. And the AI is just as lost as I've been. I didn't even tell it what ray tracing technique to use. I feel so justified now!

"Spurious ray pixels"? I edited the post for length and missed a word, but I'm leaving it in because it sounds like a Simpsons character.

I resigned from Khronos Group today. I spent the last three years doing graphics API research at Khronos and Microsoft. Neither of them is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-increasing lines of code per triangle and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

"Oh, it's just civ without the combat? How hardcore could it be?" Combolands. It's a great game about getting a railway before you could remove that banner.

I didn't realize I was asking for a full on sandboxing when I messed up the folders and thought it would be funny to give the agents one-way shared memory when claude asked me about the new project root. I've since learned to be careful about implying infrastructure.

Saying there's code so complex you can't understand it is like saying there's sentences so English you can't hear them.

There's nothing stopping you from writing every sentence except for the fact that you can't.

I suppose that technically is an appeal to pumping lemma, a well known fallacy.

A dynamic sparse voxel octtree renderer fed by a modular input of some kind, in this case a signed distance field (thanks for all the fun, @iquilezles). This is the stress test version aiming for a voxel lod size of native res. And I didn't have to describe a single render pass.

I feel like I'm only now discovering how good puzzle games can be if you actually try to deduce things instead of exhausting options. Any suggestions for games on par with The Artisan of Glimmith? Or anywhere near as good as it, honestly.

Also, I've gotten weird abstract dreams after some especially gnarly difficulty seven puzzles. The compass boss puzzle one especially. It's like visiting the land of imagination, but the opposite. I think I like it?

Golden Goose + Pterodactyl + Abilities Trigger Twice + Kangaroo + Mirrors = Zoominoes has been counting up my money for several minutes now. The animation seems to cap out at one coin per frame. This is exactly how broken I like my roguelikes. I haven't even checked if I can skip the animation yet.

Can't skip the animation, but I can quit to menu. Kind of afraid to try it. It's up to 37k. I'm pretty sure the amount gained doubles every time a pterodactyl lands next to another pterodactyl. Unfortunately, the chain of pterodactyls also reaches the kangaroos.
