Nothing OS 5.0 is designed to feel faster and smoother across the interactions you use every day. App launches, scrolling, touch response, multitasking and background app behaviour have all been improved. Animations can also respond when you reverse direction mid-interaction.

Essential AI gets a series of updates. Essential Voice now delivers faster, cleaner transcriptions, with real-time transcription and translation coming later this year. Essential Space gets Smart Collections, which can automatically recommend related captures and organise information for you.

Essential Space also introduces Model Context Protocol support. Compatible AI platforms can search and read selected information from your Essential Space, so you don’t need to manually find and copy information across. MCP support will initially be read-only.
