As a woman, please never, ever go against your values for a man. It is not worth it. Ever.
And vice versa. I do not think anyone going against their values or principles simply to please another human being makes sense in the long run.
If you are career-oriented, marry a man who genuinely loves ambitious women.
If you do not want many children, communicate that clearly beforehand and stand by it.
Do not abandon values and principles you have held for years simply because you are trying to please another human being. Compromise has its place, but there are some things you should not have to betray yourself to accommodate.
Know those things, and stick by it.
