ALT MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL APPROVES RED SOX WILD CARD SERIES ROSTER SUBSTITUTION Major League Baseball has approved a roster substitution for the Boston Red Sox due to an injury sustained by outfielder Roman Anthony. Anthony, who has been diagnosed with a right hand strain, will be replaced on the Wild Card Series roster by infielder Curtis Mead. In accordance with MLB rules, Anthony is ineligible to participate in the remainder of the Wild Card Series, as well as the American League Division Series if the Red Sox advance. Anthony would be eligible to return for the American League Championship Series.
