this certainly isn't an easy decision to make and there's little reward to being a governing body of a niche speedrun comunity- but the penalty of a permanent ban leaves little room for change/growth
I hope the community can persist so that there are still playoffs happening 5 or 10 years from now
at that point, we will all be very different (hopefully better) people
it feels more reasonable to issue an indefinite ban and give EDCR (or whoever gets banned for that matter) the ability to appeal his ban every 1-2 years
I have no idea of his character or his desire to change and grow, but pushing someone towards that outcome seems to me to be what's best

this lost any tiny bit of respect i had left for him. possibly the worst thing u could do when u are confronted is to: lie, and when u get the consequence u deserve, finally tell the truth. also makes his apology 10x weaker than it already was
Following the disqualification of edcr from Season 11 Playoffs due to past harmful messages which breached our player conduct rules, the Ranked team has reached a final decision on his eligibility for future Playoffs.
When the messages were first brought to our attention we verified that the messages were sent by edcr. We contacted edcr the same day to hear his side. He denied that the messages had been sent by him.
Two days later, edcr posted a public statement, in which he took accountability for the messages. This directly conflicted with the information he previously provided to the Ranked team.
After playoffs concluded, we contacted edcr again for comment, where he briefly apologized and acknowledged that he was dishonest with us in our initial communication.
edcr only reached out to the Ranked team when directly prompted, and never reached out of his own accord. Taking into account all of these factors, our final decision is that edcr is permanently banned from participating in future Playoffs.
