How to get exceptional designs using Claude Most people use Claude Design and get mediocre results. They treat it like a regular tool and wonder why the output feels generic. But when you approach it strategically, with the right setup, the output becomes genuinely exceptional. Here's exactly how to do it: 1. Install specialized skills to elevate Claude's understanding Claude Design gets dramatically better when it has context about your technical constraints and design philosophy. Install frontend skills: npx skills add lnkd.in/eyqZ9wFA --skill frontend-design Install Remotion for motion design: npx skills add remotion/agent-skills Install taste/design system skills: npx skills add Leonxlnx/taste-skill These aren't nice-to-haves. They fundamentally change how Claude approaches design problems. It now understands feasibility, motion principles, and aesthetic depth. 2. Connect to real inspiration sources Don't prompt from memory. Give Claude actual visual references to learn from. Connect Mobbin MCP: claude mcp add mobbin --scope user --transport http api.mobbin.com/mcp Now Claude pulls from real, curated design patterns instead of generating from training data alone. 3. Leverage top UI component libraries as building blocks Why reinvent when you can build on excellence? Trusted component libraries: Untitled UI: lnkd.in/eUdjS-5p Fragments: lnkd.in/enbzQUBE Shadcn: ui.shadcn.com/ Kibo: kibo-ui.com/ Feed these to Claude and it designs within proven, production-ready systems. 4. Use pre-built animated templates and interactive components Speed up execution with ready-to-customize templates. Feed these directly into your coding tools. Interactive UI & animated templates: Bencho: bencho.dev/ 21st by Ruixen: lnkd.in/eVe3AVnm Motionsites: motionsites.ai/ Landing pages, footers, banners, micro-interactions—all ready to adapt. 5. Use the best model available Model selection matters. Opus 5.5: Best for complex design systems and enterprise work Fable (Max): Best speed-to-quality ratio for iterative design The setup takes 30 minutes. The output quality jump? Massive. You're not just using Claude Design anymore. You're using Claude Design + expertise + inspiration + proven components + speed. That's how you ship designs that actually compete.

Why do people brag about the number of prompts an AI generated idea take? Doesn't make sense to me

I've worked with brilliant designers in my life and Astra/Opus outshine them 10x when it comes to not only design aesthetics, but remarkably creative UX solutions, in 1/1000th of the time. If we were being doomerish about it, Astra and latest Opus mark the death of designers the way models in 2025 ended coding.

Hola A friend’s hiring for a product designer. 1 million NGN per month. It’s a 12 month contract, and although it’s largely remote, Abuja presence is preferred because they’d be some in person meetings. Resumption on October 1st. Please drop portfolios in the comments
