❗️A Starlink ground station in Poland providing connectivity to Ukraine, including the Ukrainian military, was targeted in what Polish authorities describe as an act of sabotage. The fire hit the station’s power system and generator in an apparent attempt to disable it and disrupt internet access. Poland has not established that Russia was responsible. But Digital Affairs Minister says many signs suggest the attack fits Russia’s evolving doctrine of hybrid warfare. This is exactly what Europe needs to pay attention to. War against Ukraine does not necessarily stop at Ukraine’s borders. Increasingly, the infrastructure that helps Ukraine resist is becoming a target too.

The Perm oil refinery has received more drone sanctions overnight. Multiple points of fire have been identified in videos and pictures, no doubt caused by successfully-intercepted drone debris. As long as Putin's war continues, the Russian fuel crisis will keep getting worse.

While the world discusses negotiations and peace, Russia continues sending ballistic missiles into the Ukrainian capital.

❗️While world leaders gather at the UN General Assembly in New York to talk about peace, this is what Russia is doing in Kyiv. This morning, a Russian drone struck a 16-storey residential building in the city centre, Pechersk district. Apartments across two floors were completely destroyed. A 14-year-old boy was killed in Russia’s attack on the capital. There will be many speeches about peace in New York this week. Meanwhile, Russia continues to demonstrate what its version of “peace negotiations” looks like in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese @AlboMP and I signed a bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and Australia, opening up even more opportunities to deepen our partnership. Today, Australia also announced a new $60 million defense contribution for energy, protective equipment, and humanitarian assistance. I thanked the Prime Minister for this important support and assured him that Ukraine, in return, is ready to share our experience and technologies. Naval drones, ground platforms, and AI-powered systems – all of these go far beyond purely combat applications and can significantly strengthen national security. We agreed that our teams will work on preparing a Drone Deal. Australia has also introduced a new sanctions package targeting Russia’s accomplices and shadow fleet vessels. This is a very appropriate signal at a time when there are attempts in Europe to remove Putin’s oligarchs from sanctions lists.
