Watching City fans respond to today by screaming “YOU CAN’T TAKE OUR TROPHIES” and taking shots at Liverpool is genuinely pathetic. An independent Commission found that your club systematically broke Premier League rules for nearly a decade, inaccurately reported its income and expenditure and would have exceeded PL and UEFA spending limits by a VERY substantial amount had everything been reported accurately…..and your response is… pride? 😂 Nobody needs to pretend Liverpool were perfect or rewrite every result that happened on a football pitch. That isn’t the point. The point is that sporting competition only means something when clubs are expected to compete under the same rules. If Liverpool were ever found guilty of something this serious, I would be fucking embarrassed. I wouldn’t be online waving medals around and mocking rival supporters as though the findings were something to celebrate 🫪 If your loyalty to a badge requires you to stop caring whether your club followed the rules that just tells me that you don’t love football. You refute it with facts. Suddenly we’re discussing something completely different. You answer that too. Goalposts move again. And again. Until eventually there’s nowhere left to move them and out comes “your club is shit,” personal insults or straight-up abuse. At that point you weren’t debating. You were just waiting to be right.
