Like the fact that TMac had the vision/energy to bring back the ABCD Camp but the inherent problem right now for the present adidas grassroots leadership is that lack of vision/energy. The 3 Stripes are falling further behind Nike as a result of that. No disrespect to Bo Rodriguez, Matt Kanne & rest of current adidas crew but they don't have same knowledge, marketing skills, diplomatic savvy & gravitas Sonny Vaccaro, Jimmy Gatto & Chris Rivers did when they were in control. From rookie mistakes like not knowing the NCAA recruiting calendar, getting rid of adidas Nations (one of the best grassroots events of the last 20 years), diluting their brand by allowing hundreds of non-competitive AAU teams to PRETEND they are adidas-sponsored (adidas Gold) to hosting their 3SSB stops at remote locations not convenient to their teams as well as college coaches, its obvious adidas is a ship without a competent captain at the moment. Hopefully adidas corporate marketing leaders like Chris McGuire can realize that and find the new leadership adidas needs.
ABCD Camp Is Back: 20 Years In The Making
