If you go down in the woods today,
you're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today,
you'd better go in disguise
For every creature that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the beasties have their picnic..

“He really has the two things – the weirdest mind, and the most wholesome mind.”
@RealGDT wasn’t “brave enough” to approach the late David Lynch when he saw him, but he beautifully breaks down the paradox at the heart of his films.
i read “what kind of mother” by @claymcleod and i’m not entirely sure you should too. because it hurt me, and even though it did so beautifully you need to know going in that it will. but, even so, it really was worth it for me
i read ”full throttle” by @joe_hill and you should too. it might be the first time i actually felt as if he liked some of the people in his stories, and although i know that’s not an issue for many readers it made me like the collection a lot more than some of his previous books
i read ”everything the darkness eats” by @eric_larocca and you should too. it builds and builds a sense of sadness and rage, and it ends with hope. also, i got the sense that it might be a bit of a loveletter to leonard cohen’s last song
i read ”whalefall” by @DanielDKraus and i really think you should too. going in, i had no idea that what could have been just horror or even adventure would turn out to be something like ”the martian” with even more emotional depth. one of my favorites so far this year.
just wanted to give this another push. this book has a lot of great (really short) stories by a lot of great authors. and me. but, most importantly, it raises money for a really important purpose.
ONE WEEK OF SHORT SCARES! 💀
A thank you for those who have bought this lovely anthology - we’re closing in on not only 100 orders, but also £200!

i read “horror film” by @paulGtremblay and you should too. perfectly paced and driven by its characters. i love how the people in his books are flawed like us all. it made me want to see the film that maybe never should have been made. and it felt like i was there when it was.

Everyone’s got serious author dreams like hitting a bestseller list or optioning film rights. And I’ve got those too, but I’d love to hear about people’s silly author dreams. I’ll go first: I really want dessert made out of my book cover! Cookies, cake, or all of the above! 😋
