The bad JJ could absolutely hit against a good Texans defense, but then you have Jameis.

Then, the Jones fumble sets up the game-tying touchdown.
Then another terrible punt coverage set up the last TD.

The Giants were the best special teams unit in the league until last week.
Since then, they’ve been the worst. Missing three field goals in the monsoon last week was at least excusable.

By far the sloppiest game of the season for the Giants. At least when they limped to wins against Arizona and Tennessee it was just bad execution.

It is a GREAT gimmick that like 9 of the 10 best players on the roster are the holdovers.
Talent is half the battle. Coaching them matters, but you can’t do anything if you have no talent.

What was even the read here?
It’s a three man rush and they’re giving you five yards on a scramble. Even if you don’t make it, it’s fourth and short.
You’re also not hurried so you can hold the ball and wait for the TE to get downfield instead of trying to layer it there.

Not keeping Grunkemeyer was a miss but almost every coach brings their guy here. On paper, good to have an experienced guy like that leading a team with a ton of turnover.
Well, that didn’t work.

At this point there’s really nothing more to get mad about from a coaching perspective this team is just way too soft for the Big Ten.
Is that coachable? Maybe, but half your team is from the Air Raid Conference with 280 pound guards. Just not built for these games.
