Local models are perfectly fine for day to day stuff.
People love to claim that local models are useless. And sure, compared to Opus 5.5 and the latest and greatest they suck. But they allow for experimentation and innovation that’s just not possible for most of us otherwise. Don’t dunk on people that love to tinker.

What will matter in future is runtime behavior:
Performance characteristics, resource usage, failure modes, observability, debuggability, deployments, rollbacks.
And legibility of all that to agents.

AI models are neither bad nor good at architecture. I am pretty sure they are a lot less likely to recommend RoR than Next.js although it could be the right choice.
I understand the appeal in trying to find the first plausible fortress in our retreat from writing code, but if you think it's "architecture", I have bad news for you. The models are also very good at that.

The goal behind the Noodle mobile app is that it should work without any intermedia 3rd-party server - even if you trust me.
How we are going to get this going is pretty simple. First the protocol of choice is solid. Noodle AI Hub is based on QUIC so we have the benefit of a modern protocol that runs on top of UDP.
To get it going from your local network, we will use NAT-PMP/PCP and UPnP (if supported). PCP can also open the IPv6 block so we can take advantage of that and honestly it will be ideal. Yes I need to write some basic SOAP in 2026 ffs.
I have not figured out how to get a stable domain names but might not be such a big deal.
That's it. Couple of hundreds of lines of wiring that is easy to do with LLMs and you will be able to connect from any point in the world to your AI hub.
