When you are building a software, there are so many small fun details to look after.
Because Thunder does 24X7 screen recording, it's impossible to watch Netflix or Prime while using it.
A good side quest note is how these app uses software based privacy protection. These steaming applications uses GPU based hardware acceleration to render these frames through a GPU overlay plane. Screen recording captures the normal framebuffer while these frames are rendered differently.
Every capture tick, Thunder asks macOS which app is frontmost and gets its bundle ID, then uses the accessibility API to read that window's title and its AXDocument attribute, which is the current URL for Chrome, Safari and the other Chromium browsers.
Those three strings, bundle ID, window title, URL, are all it has. DRMContentDetector lowercases the URL and checks it against a hardcoded list of 16 streaming domains, and lowercases the title and checks it against 11 name patterns. A substring hit on either one means Netflix, so it stops the screen stream. No hit means it keeps recording.
