The most important quotes from the biggest protagonists of the World Championships: 1. Brandon McNulty: "I've been able to win some races in my career, but I've never been a superstar. It was more about having special moments to be part of races and be with Tadej winning monuments.“ "It's been a long ride, I never really thought this was something possible. It's absolutely crazy. It was my dream to be in the WorldTour even as a kid. But to do something like this is unbelievable.” 📷: @pipecano_photo #Montreal2026

6. What future holds McNulty Will we see the world champion next year bringing bidons for Pogačar and Del Toro or how will it even be next year? Yes, we can expect this year that he will be shared leader with Del Toro at Il Lombardia and Italian Classics, but what will even happen next year? I really don’t know. My guess is that if others are stronger he will work for them, but I still expect some changes. For example, a free role at the Tour, maybe he can go to the breakaway when Pogačar is safe and win a stage like Wellens did last time. And for me, him being at the Tour is guaranteed. World champion needs to be here and also from his personal perspective, he won stages at the Giro and Vuelta and only the Tour is missing. 📷: @pipecano_photo

9. How will the Alpe d’Huez experience affect the future of the iconic climbs? Well, after all the reactions it looks like Alpe d’Huez will not be used as we have see now ever again that the fans are so close to the riders. But it might not be just about Alpe d’Huez. The problems with too big a crowd can also affect the other climbs in the future and the Tour and the organizers might be forced to put barriers through the whole climb when such big crowds could be expected somewhere. But it clearly worked on Rue Lepic where the atmosphere was just beautiful, so why wouldn’t it work also at Alpe d’Huez or other climbs in the future? The safety of the riders must be ensured. That’s all, hopefully you liked the reading. 🫶🏻 📷: @pipecano_photo

Why did I stop speaking after Pogačar’s Tourmalet performance? Because no matter what I or anyone else posted about him or that stage, everything came to one thing… doping. Every single comment section about him is still flooded with people who are convinced they have discovered everything, know everything, and I am just blind, naive, childish, or whatever they think of. For me, the reality is simple… There is zero credible evidence suggesting that Pogačar or any of the other 5 riders who broke the Tourmalet record are not clean, while there is plenty of evidence that they are. And I just don’t want that kind of constant negativity on my page or in my life, and I know you can’t fight with these people, because they always have their truth. If you want to watch the Tour de France believing in that negativity, that’s your choice. I’ll be on the other side, enjoying the race I’ve been waiting for all year and being happy with it. 📷: @pipecano_photo #TDF2026

My takeaways from the second stage of the Tour 👇🏼 1. Tadej looked light-years above others While everyone was on their limit, Pogi was easily looking back and shouting to Del Toro to go, go. If he wanted to, he could’ve clearly gotten the stage win, some seconds, and also the yellow jersey. He looked awesome. But that does meant everything. The Tour is not decided on the short hills but on the long mountains. Also, Remco looked so much better than Lipowitz, who was almost dropping on the last climb, but in the long mountains, it can be totally different. So I wouldn't jump to any big conclusions from that. But yes, for me Tadej looks so much better. 📷: @pipecano_photo #TDF2026

5. What now? Jonas has the yellow jersey. What will now Visma do? It feels ilogical for Visma to control today, because it is perfect stage for Pogačar to take the stage and bonus seconds, not for Jonas. But who will then pull? Still UAE in a stage where you can create big gaps, or Pinarello believing in Pidcock and Alpecin for MVDP? Or all with resign and we will see a breakaway stage already in stage 2? And the stages 3 and 4 feels even for as a breakaway stages. Simply this start feels so chaotic for me and I feel like we can see some very surprise winners and maybe also some very surprising rider to take the yellow jersey from the breakaway. Or Visma will try to keep yellow as long as possible? 📷: @pipecano_photo

Felix Gall has decided… he will transfer to LIDL-Trek, Mülhberger will come with him. Gazzetta mentioned a week ago, that Felix Gall received an offer from Lidl-Trek, and now HLN confirms that he has already decided to leave becoming GC number 2 after Seixas in Decathlon to Lidl-Trek. He will also bring his Austrian domestique Gregor Mühlberger, who was very good at this Giro. HLN also confirms Jordi Meuss will come. So now the team will have all Ayuso, Gee, Skjelmose & Gall fighting for GC. So what now with Ciccone? Well according to rumours he might break his contract (until 2027) and leave the team early. But where? That is currently unknown, but it definitely won’t be in some superteam. So what do you say to this news and where do you think Ciccone should go? 📷: @pipecano_photo
