Today, we are thrilled to officially launch @leelainc and announce $4.6 million in funding to bring self-executing compliance to regulated financial businesses. We spent years working in financial services, and we kept seeing the same problem: regulated businesses had plenty of software to track compliance work, but people still had to do almost all of the complex, multi-step work themselves - reactively, no less, and earning a reputation for slowing businesses down in the process. Compliance was the world of chasing, and of spreadsheets, documents and off-the-cuff attestations. We started Leela because we thought there had to be a better way. Most compliance software tracks work. Leela actually does it. Here's how: Leela breaks compliance down into four parts. 🔹 We design the policies that make up your compliance program (if you already have these, we can start there too). 🔹 We translate that program into discrete obligations. 🔹 We perform the work those obligations require, across the systems where your business already operates. 🔹 And we package the evidence in the format your counterparties need. We're incredibly grateful to our rockstar investors - co-leads Array Ventures (@atshruti) and Female Founders Fund (@fcubedvc) and the rest of our incredible investors Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures (@NMFuture), The Council (@TheCouncilCap), Apprentis Ventures (Holly Neiweem) and an amazing group of financial-services operators and angels, including @jthesalt, @brunoswerneck, @SashaFintech and others for believing in our vision and a dynamic new future for regulated businesses. And I am so personally grateful to our team and our INCREDIBLE early customers. We wouldn't be here without you. The best part? You can actually start using Leela today! Sign up, get started with a self-executing policy, and start building your compliance program right in the product (links in comments). 🔹 Try the interactive demo: try.withleela.com 🔹 Get started with Leela: app.withleela.com 🔹 Learn more: withleela.com And check out our launch coverage in PYMNTS and Legaltech News / Law.com! Here's a look at what weve built. 👇

Leela CEO: AI can give FinTechs a 10-person compliance team. In an exclusive conversation, Preeti Krishnan tells PYMNTS: "A lawyer can tell you the laws you have to follow...But it’s compliance’s job to figure out how they apply to that specific business, and then make sure they’re upheld. It’s like a hydra." Read the recap of our interview for how Leela uses AI agents to help solve that problem: hubs.ly/Q04zTMkr0

I hate Mamdani as he is obvious communist and it is absolutely against my interest to agree with him but I actually agree on this take: kids absolutely do need to struggle on questions and problems, and learning ONLY happens when there is effort involved. Chatgpt might be great teacher but great teacher doesnt enable learning, only exercise and discipline does. But I dont think tech companies care about 8th grader as customers so idk what that rant on "profit" is about lmfao
Mamdani bans AI use in NYC public schools for K through 8th grade very curious to hear thoughts from parents of young kids on this, what’s your AI policy at home?

I heard a woman say that she doesn’t regret her kids, but if she could choose to start her life over, she wouldn’t have them. And I remember thinking…isn’t that another way of describing regret? Being a parent is absurdly challenging. But even on the hardest days, I’ve never once wished for a life where my children didn’t exist. If there are a thousand lifetimes, my soul would look for theirs in every single one. Because being a parent is the greatest paradox of existence. It has taken more from me than anything else & given me more than I could ever lose.

Every time I see a CRO that doesn't sell themselves, they fail. Every time I see a CTO that doesn't code themselves, they fail. Every time I see a CMO that doesn't market themselves, they fail.

so let me get this straight > a silicon valley founder guy releases another AI wearable thing ("Friend") that will obviously fail like the last one > he for some reason spends $1,800,000 of investor money on the domain for it > WAIT, now some other dude has posted a video of himself RAPPING to say that the "Friend" guy stole his idea > then "Friend" guy replies with a video of the dude giving the his wearable "Friend" to a drugged up homeless guy and mocking him and we think these people are going to solve global loneliness????

You can't simultaneously argue that 2024 is an existential event in which democracy is at stake and that it's acceptable or desirable for the Democrats to nominate a candidate who can't communicate and has to be hidden from public view. It's absurd this is even a conversation.

France’s extraordinary election results provide an urgent, valuable lesson. Don’t concede ground to those who sow division and fear. Build a bold Left movement that offers an alternative of inclusion and hope. That is how you defeat the far right.

Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel prize winner and one of the most important Jewish intellectuals in the world, adds his voice to debunk the narrative that pro-Palestinian protests on campuses is antisemitic. He calls it "normal human empathy": "What a large number of young people are expressing is normal human empathy. They don't want to see people die unnecessarily. And I think the pictures, the fact that tens of thousands of people have died, including lots of children and women, innocent bystanders, in the attack on Gaza, in a very short span of time, has had a horrific impact. And they're saying this is unjust. And it has brought back to the fore that much of the architecture of the world was shaped in a colonial era. And many of these people are from countries that themselves were shaped in a colonial era. So what I hear, and what's going on, is a real sense of empathy for so many people dying unnecessarily, and outrage at collective punishment, which is unacceptable. And it brings back to the fore reflections on colonialism and its consequences, that remind us that history doesn't just disappear, even if one would like it to."
