quick updates for the community as we've been closely watching the latest hack on Cronos. yesterday an attacker drained Tectonic, Crono's largest lending protocol - which is about the entire lending market onchain for Cronos ~$121M ( 46% of all DeFi value on Cronos ) I won't get into the specifics of how this was done as it's secondary to the events that followed. long story short the entire chain is currently frozen. no transactions happening. why this happened? Cronos runs a Tendermint consensus with a 100 validator cap. within minutes of discovering the hack, validators agreed to halt block production entirely. now.. this is not cool at all. Tokens, transactions, contracts - all frozen at this time on Cronos - where all @playWAM infra is. however, reading the private groups and X posts, the cronos team is actively working to fixing this so we're eager to see it back up.
