To those not following along, the reason it matters what DeWine says is he holds the veto pen. If he rejects this, Matt Huffman has to find a day when 60 of his troops can come back to Columbus in the middle of October when they're fighting for their lives in 10+ swing districts

Per his spox, Gov. Mike DeWine said funding a gas tax suspension with ODOT cash balance was a "very, very bad idea."
(ODOT has $1.6B in its highway operating fund, but it's all spoken for.)
DeWine is waiting to see bill language on a gas tax holiday before deciding what to do.

One great reason to donate to Sherrod Brown is that he’s running in a special election and should be sworn in in November.
Sure hope that Senate Rs are making plans to confirm all remaining judicial nominees during post-election lame-duck period. The prospect that Dems will win control of the Senate (something I have been warning about for a long time) seems increasingly likely. It might not happen, but best to be prepared if it does.
