“Never say never about America” was my concluding quote from a thoughtful piece from Jerry Seib of the WSJ about “How the unity of 9/11 sowed the seeds of America’s deep political division.” My point was none of us should assume the level of political division will be this bad forever.

In our recent @NBCNews polling, Democrats are now far more likely to say they sympathize with the Palestinians instead of the Israelis, with 67% of Dems being more sympathetic to the Palestinians, compared to just 17% who say the Israelis. Additionally, two-thirds of Dems have a negative view of Israel, up from 35% in just 2023. Speaking on the topic, Partner Bill McInturff (@pollsterguy) said, "this is unrecognizable in terms of where America was, and the Democratic Party was, for a 20-, 30-year history." He also noted that this will have implications on the 2028 Democratic primary, saying that it is "going to be fought on very, very different terrain in regards to the issue of Israel." In the latest NBC News Poll we find that America today is dispirited and angry. 59% of Americans agree that the economic + political systems in the country are stacked against people like me. This ties a record high on this measure (April 1992).
