The people that don't block me here believe in personal liberty and privacy what happened in AI this weekend matters to both of those. It's also should be a fight for the anti-data center crowd as this will end what would have made more data centers unnecessary.

I resigned from Google today.
I enjoyed my work and loved the people, but my GDM team was working on a new generation of chips to make AI much faster and cheaper, and I think AI is already progressing too fast, so I had to quit.

I told everyone they sent staff on our dime to work at churches all over the state. For no apparent reason "Hope Navigators" started showing up at churches, I asked who was paying them and no one ever seemed to know anything, we were that's who.

Rather than fix the part where it costs $10,000 to move into an apartment, they fixed you lying about it you know to have a place to sleep in a state with 70% service workers who make minimum wage.

Florida has a new law for people who lie to get a rental. Fake pay stubs. Fake bank statements. Fake IDs. Pretending to be someone else. Any of it can get you a felony. That means up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Landlords don’t have to wait for a court case, either. They can give the renter 7 days to move out. There’s no chance to fix it.
A big apartment group pushed for this law. They say Florida had more rental fraud than any other state. Every lawmaker voted yes. It passed 110-0 in the House and 34-0 in the Senate. Governor DeSantis signed it in June.

One guy wants to ban AI. The other guy thinks renaming it is all that’s needed. Both are nuts. On ProxCb we invented AI fifty years ago and put sensible guardrails around it. And it’s worked wonders - no one’s died, and no one is poor or jobless because of it.
