Heavy agree!! + graphic design is essentially visual communication. It teaches you a lot about, shape language, composition, colors, visual hierarchy how to make your visuals look appealing / interesting / easy to understand which are all things that can make your art BETTER
I don't know if this is a hot take but: I think every artist should know at least the basics of graphic design because it'll help you a LOT when doing commission sheets, thumbnails, etc.
