We are living in a great crisis. The beautification of defeat and apathy. Its a increasing trend I've noticed. 100 years ago, China suffered this too. It's a called the 'spiritual victory' by the writer Lu Xun. Beating it is how you survive our age of chaos. Link⬇️

If you want to know how techbros will rule you, look at Austin and San Francisco. Then how you'll be replaced, with no opportunities whatsoever. That's their idea of a social contract.

Good learning requires a bit of boredom. Most of the time we're driven by hot boredom. Its a relentless urge to escape and get a dopamine hit. Its accumulation without connecting. You don't learn this way. You need to develop slow boredom. Sit still with nothing to do, and observe. You'll find your thoughts connect faster. The idea is to do this after every hard study session. Take 2 hours break. And just sit, without a phone. Stare at something. Then go back. You'll find you have deeper learning.

I spend a lot of time, perhaps too much, thinking about strategy and tactics. Learning them is most critical advantage as we descend into an age of chaotic multipolarity. It will set you ahead of the slopulists, vibe thinkers, and toxic postivity gurus. Learn Strategy is a series in where I go into timeless strategy and tactics fundamentals. And how you can apply it as we descend into a chaotic world. Tactical elevates a person toward mastering the game Link in comments.

"There can be few fields where history counts for so little as in the world of finance" What fuels bubbles: 1. Financial memory is brief. Financial disaster is often quickly forgotten. Speculation returns in a new youthful self-confident generation who invents it. 2. Money = genius. Free marketers believe that the more income or assets you have, or if your associated with? You must be unusually gifted or intelligent. Reality is these people are living NPCs. Making them the least worst choice for the public or investors. Whenever people see these guys moving massive bags, they automatically assume their IQ must be as huge as their bank account.
BREAKING: "Speculative data center debt is being repackaged and sold to pension and retirement funds, university endowments, and other institutional investors in a manner eerily reminiscent of the subprime bubble," per AFR

Robert Greene and I read the same books. The fundamentals don't change over centuries. How they expressed do. I'm going at 1/10 of what I know. The harder concepts are abstract, but require practice of fundamentals.
Replying to @pplsartofwar
I had to pay Barnes & Noble to read about Robert's Green (rather unsurprising) 48 laws of power, you just give the sauce away. Peeps don't know how good they have it

Advice: Read your enemies books and art. Study stem AND humanities. You'll find out many concepts cross. If you think a fundamental is obvious? Break it down further and smaller. Play with the conceptual values, ontology, and spacial reasoning.

Exactly. If you are going to rear elite human capital you need to reward it, or at least make sure that as little of it as possible slips through the cracks in acrimony and rancour. Hong Xiuquan is the warning from history.

That last line should be a warning in this time. A 21st Century Hong Xiuquan would be a failed or fired FAANG or Huawei employee out of work for 2 years+.

Iran's regional aggressiveness is more a buffer system to buy strategic depth. Big difference. Not security architecture like the US. Who inserts itself in the Middle East to project power and secure oil. Soviets and UK did too. Last one sponsored Mossadehs overthrow with the US in 1953.
Replying to @pplsartofwar
They firmly believe they should be running the whole Middle East, and enthusiastically insert themselves into conflicts over a thousand miles from their borders. So perhaps not really that “traumatised”?

States try to create a strategic buffer. US is no exception. There's nothing wrong with this. US uses NATO and alliances in East Asia. Adds to an Alantic and Pacific buffer. Iran assumed mostly regional powers as adversaries. So they courted non state actors like Ansar in Yemen or Hezbollah in Lebanon.
