We're building the fast, deterministic and reproducible package manager Pixi for scientific and robotics workflows. Based on @condaforge & @robostack packages.
The Pixi team is at ROSCON in Toronto - come find the yellow backpacks if you want to chat! We keep spotting Pixi in so many cool robotics projects and it's making us proud. To get a glimpse of what we're working on, join the talk about the EU CRA this afternoon!
We made it easy to install Isaac ROS! The new `isaac-forge` repository contains many upstream NVIDIA Isaac ROS packages to make them installable with Pixi. You can test it today on your #NIVIDA#Jetson!
No docker needed!

Congratulations to the Mojo 1.0 release @Modular! So glad to have you in our community, and seeing @clattner_llvm on stage with `pixi` in the background was definitely a highlight for us.
pixi update --offline now resolves against only what you already have: the package cache and local file:// channels.
Air-gapped machines, planes, CI without egress.
Pixi now fully supports archspec, so you can create CPU-optimized environments and let Pixi handle the installation logic.
Read more about it in the blogpost we updated:

Use pixi global to install any project from source now.
Pixi global supports the full package spec to configure the neccesary information to install it directly, without a pixi.toml.
Conda packages can have extras now.
Optional dependency groups you declare and then consume, via v3 repodata. Plus when conditions and variant flags.
This should also be available on conda-forge in the near future!

No more gpu and cpu environments, let pixi choose the right platform for you!
[system-requirements] is deprecated. Platforms now carry the requirements themselves.
CUDA and glibc constraints inline, and you can name a target what you actually call it.
More and more multi-output recipes are now building through conda-forge's new rattler-build based staging.
Fast, modern, Rust-powered builds are landing in conda-forge, one recipe at a time.
New community tool: a live dashboard for the conda-forge staged-recipes queue.
See which new packages are waiting for review, what's passing CI, and where things are stuck, all in one place.
As our server grows (600+ channels!) we had to redesign our channel page. It offers you an easier way to find your own or other interesting channels to fetch packages from!
Pixi v0.75.0 now ships with an --offline mode.
Install your environments directly from the shared cache, even on the train or plane! 🛫

ALT A terminal window displays the command "pixi update --offline," suggesting functionality for updating in offline mode.
GLIM, the real-time 3D LiDAR SLAM framework, is now available on conda-forge.
One-line install with pixi or conda instead of building from source. Good news for the robotics crowd.

The rattler-build playground got a bit fancier! Now also generates recipes for PyPI, CRAN, and CPAN upstream sources.
Try it out under playground.rattler.build
Using @bioconda usually means also configuring @condaforge and a few other channels by hand. Cumbersome, and easy to get wrong.
Our new channel-relations CEP moves that info into repodata, so the solver just knows which channels belong together.
Ever want to just quickly send some files? sendme by iroh is a very simple clean tool to get it done. No ssh or networking required, just a simple send-receive command.
Quickly install it with Pixi 🚀
Pixi is gaining traction fast in robotics, so we built a dedicated landing page to help roboticists get up and running quickly.

Pixi now supports relative `exclude-newer` definitions. This allows users to set a cooldown period before using packages from the internet.
This helps avoid pulling in vulnerabilities discovered shortly after release.
We're thrilled to announce our second non-prefix core maintainer of Pixi!
Welcome Lucas Colley! He's been an ESOC 2025 student and since then kept being active, both in the Pixi repo, our Discord community and by adding Pixi to Open-source projects like CPython, SciPy & Numpy!
If you are running a channel that primarily publishes open source packages to a public channel, we are happy to sponsor your community with the open source plan.
Over the past years, our platform has grown from just a few small channels to over 600 Conda channels storing more than 20TB of data.
To help scale it further, today we are launching a fair pricing model based on your usage and needs.

conda-mirror has a config file that let's you select what subset you want to mirror by familiar matchspecs.
Did you know that conda-mirror was rewritten in Rust and uses the rattler libraries?
You can now register Pixi workspaces globally and access them through their name from anywhere in your shell!
From all our conda CLI lovers this was a big request!
Thank you Sophia Castellarin for the implementation!

Pytorch + Ultralytics + ROS2 Humble on a Nvidia Jetson Nano with no Docker!
Pixi, together with @condaforge and @RoboStack, makes this possible!

Are you dreaming of your own specialized *-forge? Our new build tool "rattler-build" makes it simple. Check out our new docs on how to create a custom "r-forge", "rust-forge", "ruby-forge", ... rattler-build.prefix.dev/lat…
Bioconda now recommends Pixi ahead of conda and mamba as the way to get started. This means a lot to us. We're all-in on making Pixi the best tool for scientific package management.
The main firmware for the Crazyflie Nano Quadcopter has a pixi.toml now.
To quote: "Pixi has a great potential to make our embeded developer lives much easier so I am looking forward at it becoming even better for embedded development! And I would welcome a PR for 'pixi build'"
No more duplicate dependencies in pyproject.toml!
Pixi Python packages can now set `ignore-pypi-mapping = false` to automatically convert `pyproject.toml` dependencies into conda package requirements.
The goal is no configuration, this is a step in that direction!
Do you need more control over the packages that will be installed in your Pixi workspaces?
You can now define [constraints], which allow you to specify which versions are allowed when a package is installed.
Don’t like writing recipes? With Pixi packages, it’s a lot less work to package up remote projects!
This is all the configuration needed to build the ruff project into a conda package with Pixi. 🤯
We want to make it easier to build packages!
For that, we have a unified debug experience in `rattler-build` now. You can run `debug setup`, enter a `debug shell`, and even add some dependencies into the host environment with `debug host-add`.
Pixi can now natively build R packages - for your own packages or thirdparty packages from CRAN or Github. The new `pixi-build-r` build backend makes it possible. pixi-build-r will install compilers, system-level dependencies and R / r-packages from @condaforge.
Exciting news!
We're thrilled to welcome Pavel as our first Pixi core maintainer from outside Prefix! With his extensive contributions, we have full confidence in his stewardship of the project. Thank you for your past work, and here’s to an even stronger collaboration ahead!
The RFC period has started on the "staging cache" CEP for the v1 recipe format. This might sound like gibberish but is a powerful feature that will allow us to convert more (complicated!) packages on @condaforge to the V1 recipe format!
