I know this is trolling but this poster does need a toe-punt up the crutch. TV football fan.
The "passages are inconsequential tedium" are when we as supporters we are figuring out the 300 ways we could still lose the game.
Objectively, football is a poor spectator sport. There is not enough scoring and you get long passages of inconsequential tedium.

"Runaway" was released in 1961 and became the biggest hit of Del Shannon's career. Written by him and Max Crook, the track has a classic '60s rock and roll sound with an iconic Musitron organ riff (an instrument created by Crook, based on a modified organ).
Released as a single, it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks. Del Shannon's signature falsetto and Musitron's innovative sound helped define early '60s rock. The song is a timeless classic, has been covered by various artists and to this day is considered one of the greatest songs of the pre-Beatles era.

I have seen this claim many times over the years and have to say I do not believe it. Were it true some out take would survive showing the crew reaction when he got it right.
It's just not feasible but great PR story.

I was a such a fanboy of Hugh's when I was 10. He was huge at Millwall.
Remember him scoring from the half way line at Brentford. (Same game as when the hand grenade got thrown on).
Sorry to read that Hugh Curran has passed away aged 82. He is pictured here representing Scotland, Norwich City, Wolves & Oxford United. He also played for Third Lanark, Millwall & Bolton. Another player lost from my Star Soccer days as a youngster, rest in peace Hugh 😔
