🔵 Round 4 – Watkins Glen United States 🇺🇸
🔵 #53 Jake Sammut – P2 & P4 🥈
Qualifying P3, Jake found himself in a tense and tactical battle at the front throughout Race 1. The leading four traded positions back and forth in an incredibly close contest, with Jake ultimately bringing the car home in P2. 🥈
Starting P4 for the reverse-grid Race 2, Jake faced a much more difficult challenge. After gaining two positions on the opening lap, he was taken out at the chicane on lap 1, dropping him to the back of the field. Fortunately, the car escaped terminal damage and Jake was able to continue. Determined to limit the damage, he fought his way back through the field with a strong recovery drive to finish P4.
🔵 #99 Steve Axisa Farrell – P7 & P3 🥉
Qualifying P7, Steve endured a relatively quiet opening race, eventually crossing the line in P7.
The highlight of his day came in Race 2. Starting from P7, Steve was determined to bounce back. He kept it clean, stayed out of trouble and gained four positions to bring home his first podium of the season with a brilliant P3 finish! 🥉
🔵 #333 Mikhail Mercieca – P4 & DNF
After putting together a fantastic qualifying lap, Mikhail secured pole position for Race 1. Looking to convert his strong starting position into a big result, he found himself at the heart of an intense four-car fight at the front. Positions changed hands repeatedly throughout the race, with Mikhail ultimately settling for P4.
Starting P2 for the reverse-grid Race 2, Mikhail was once again right in the thick of the podium battle. Unfortunately, his race lasted just one corner. An incident at Turn 1 left the car with severe damage, forcing him into an early retirement.
🔵 #59 Brandon Bonello – P8 & DNF
After qualifying P4, technical difficulties prevented Brandon from taking his position on the grid, forcing him to start Race 1 from the pit lane. With the main pack benefiting from the slipstream, closing the gap proved extremely difficult. Nevertheless, Brandon kept pushing and gained a position to finish P8.
Starting P8 for the reverse-grid Race 2, Brandon was determined to fight his way forward and showcase his true pace. By Lap 2, he had produced an impressive charge through the field, gaining five positions to climb into P3 and join the podium battle.
Unfortunately, his comeback came to an abrupt end after side-by-side contact spun him around. With nowhere to go, another car collected him, bringing a promising race to a premature end.
🇬🇧 We'll be back on 31st October for the championship finale at Silverstone.
