June was a movie! 🎬🇰🇪, Kenya really said, "Come get a year's worth of memories." I MCed the first @btcplusplus in Africa, won 2 hackathon awards 🤣, repped @HodlHodl at @btcnairobi_conf, turned a year older, and wrapped it up with a wedding! ✨ Here's on how it went down 👇

Ok. Can we talk about these cell phones for a second? We took away our 13-year-old son’s iPhone and video games for the entire school year. Yes. The *entire* school year. Sorry not sorry. 😅 But y’all… his reaction? You would’ve thought we liquidated his Bitcoin wallet, deleted Fortnite + Roblox, banned YouTube, and canceled Christmas all in the same afternoon. This boy broke down in tears like his iPhone had been a loyal family member for 13 generations. And honestly? It hit me. Because to us, it’s “just a phone.” To them? It’s their group chat, their entertainment, their escape, their dopamine machine, their social currency, their little digital casino, and now, with AI, a whole new world where they can get answers, images, videos, attention, and instant stimulation in seconds.☠️☠️☠️ And that is scary. Introducing the phone and video games too early is probably one of my biggest parenting regrets. If I could go back, I would’ve waited. Parents, I’m not judging anyone. But please hear me: they do not need a smartphone as early as we think they do. Wait if you can. Wait till high school or maybe even college. Once they’re hooked, setting boundaries feels like trying to explain Bitcoin and AI to your great grandma at Thanksgiving. Confusing. Emotional. Painful. And somebody usually ends up yelling. My son has had real withdrawal symptoms. The tears, the grumpy mood swings, sleeping too much, the “my life is over” energy… all of it.😞 Those constant dopamine hits from phones, games, scrolling, likes, messages, notifications, and instant AI-powered everything add up. Over time, they really do change how kids function.😞 But here’s the good news: It’s been a few weeks now, and the shift has been almost immediate. He’s more present. He’s sleeping better. He’s talking to us more. He’s calmer. He’s back outside to play ☺️. He’s actually tuned into real life again. And real life is still undefeated.🥰 Bitcoin is the future of money. AI may be the future of work, school, and pretty much everything else. But our kids’ attention & brains is the real asset everyone is trying to mine!!! And I’m done letting apps, games, algorithms, and AI-powered platforms get rich off my boy’s childhood. Hard? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Their peace, focus, sleep, confidence, and real childhood matter more than any screen ever will. Just my two Satoshis! 🧡

Anyone familiar with the history of the US "justice system" isn't surprised by this because it's well known that white people are the first and primary victims of the cult of Whitism. As soon as she was designated as this White Madonna Victim Damsel, you already knew no white juror would ever vote to find her guilty - even at the cost of 3 dead white children. Whitism is a mind virus that takes up more space and importance in the minds of its hosts than even their own children. And once you understand this, you understand the actions of these hosts a lot better, regardless of their geographical location.
NEW: Lindsay Clancy juror Paula Devlin reveals on 'CBS Mornings' that the lone, male holdout juror who voted to find Clancy guilty of murdering her children was the *only* person of color -- a black man. The 11 not-guilty jurors -- who hectored him for a week to cave -- were all white.

Reading Cairo to Cape-town by @studentofbtc x @travelwbitcoin and this image is the perfect description of “A picture Tells a thousand words” 🤣 I remember when I traveled to Ghana for the first time, and confidently walked to the exchange bureau right outside the arrival terminal to exchange my Naira🤣 And I got this same image right here! Anyways right there, i had to change my Naira to USD first, and then to Cedis. The rest they say is History, but this history definitely formed a core memory for me 😅

Doing this with @dzeg5, I realized that, after all is said and done, it's really only those who stand up to do things get things done!
How do strong bitcoin developer communities get built? In this episode of Btrust in Focus, @proofofpaul sits with @dzeg5, Open-source contributor and convener of @BitDevsNBO, to discuss the journey of building Nairobi's Bitcoin developer community and the impact it continues to have across Kenya's growing Bitcoin ecosystem. From its early days of searching for meeting spaces and support to becoming a community that has produced contributors, founders, and builders, Simon shares lessons on community building, open-source development, mentorship, and the importance of creating spaces where people can learn and grow together. The conversation also explores Simon's work in Bitcoin mining, his contributions to @StratumV2, and how initiatives such as Btrust Builders have helped deepen technical engagement within the community. Had so much fun bringing this series to life 🔥 A huge thank you to all of our incredible guests for sharing their stories, to @withjpphoto for making the magic happen behind the camera, and to the superstar host, @proofofpaul, for leading the conversations.
What does it take to grow the Bitcoin open-source ecosystem? Behind every contribution, project, program, and community is a story of curiosity, persistence, collaboration, and the people creating opportunities for others to build. Btrust in Focus is a new conversation series exploring the people behind Btrust's mission and the broader Bitcoin open-source ecosystem. Through conversations with builders, educators, community leaders, program operators, ecosystem partners, and members of the Btrust team, we explore the journeys, challenges, lessons, and experiences behind the work of growing Bitcoin. Across nine episodes, you'll hear from people building products, supporting developers, strengthening communities, advancing Bitcoin education, and creating pathways for the next generation of open-source contributors. The first episode premieres next week, with new episodes dropping every Friday. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss an episode: piped.video/@btrust_tech

The safest wallet isn't the one with the most insurance. It's the one where nobody but you can move the funds, which is the whole point of trading through @hodlhodl. Do you agree, or is insurance enough for you?

An escrow that releases automatically when both sides confirm isn't 'trust'. It's math. That's the actual upgrade @hodlhodl's P2P trading offers over centralized platforms.

'Not your keys, not your coins' isn't a slogan, it's a bug report on the entire custodial model. @hodlhodl is basically the patch. Curious how many of you learned this the hard way.

Every major exchange collapse has the same first chapter: users didn't hold their keys. @hodlhodl exists so that chapter never gets written. What's your line for how much you're willing to keep on an exchange?

On an exchange, someone else decides when you can access your money. With a self-custody wallet, you decide. @hodlhodl makes it just as easy to trade P2P and keep that control. What's stopping you from making the switch?

" If we truly believe Bitcoin can contribute to Africa’s future, then we owe this ecosystem the same standards we would demand anywhere else: real transparency, real accountability, real measurement, real communities, real adoption, real impact. Africa deserves better than serving as a backdrop for fundraising campaigns, and Bitcoin deserves better than becoming another industry where a compelling story generates more value than genuine transformation. If this ecosystem is to mature, it must rediscover its original purpose. The objective was never to build organizations that survive on Bitcoin. The objective was, and remains, to build an Africa that can thrive because of it." I just published The African Bitcoin Ecosystem Has a Credibility Crisis medium.com/p/the-african-bit…
