Premier League and FIFA assistant referee Dan Robathan has retired from match officiating on medical grounds. We’ve been supporting Dan with his desire to return to the field following a health issue that necessitated spinal surgery. Despite everyone’s best efforts, that has unfortunately proved to not be possible, but our hope is the surgery and recovery can still see him lead a healthy and active life for himself and his family beyond professional officiating. Dan officiated in 203 Premier League matches and over 200 EFL and domestic cup fixtures, serving the game with professionalism and the highest possible standards week-in, week-out. Thank you for your contribution to the game, Dan. We wish you all the very best for the future ❤️

🗒️ Nine of our officials have been appointed by UEFA to matches this week.

Emily Carney begins her FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup journey today as assistant referee in the group stage match between Ghana and South Korea. Good luck, Emily!

Michael Oliver leads a team of officials on Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League this evening. He will be supported on-field by assistant referees Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring at the Santiago Bernabéu, with kick-off at 8pm UK time.

Our officials have received over 100 appointments across men’s and women’s UEFA competitions so far this season. There have also been key milestones across the group, including Matt Donohue and Paul Howard being appointed together as VAR and AVAR for ML Viciebsk v Borac. Both came through our VAR Enhanced Training Programme and their appointment is another example of officials progressing through more modern and dynamic pathways.

Ready for the return of the @BarclaysWSL and @BarclaysWSL2.
