Just saw the news about the Bitget hot-wallet incident, and honestly, $351.6M is no small hit.
Incidents like this are a painful reminder that in crypto, security can never be treated as an afterthought. No matter how established an exchange becomes, there will always be risks around infrastructure, wallets, custody and access.
What caught my attention, however, is
@bitget confirmation that its cold wallets remain secure and that the affected amount is covered by its User Protection Fund.
That distinction matters.
I also believe moments like this should not immediately become an opportunity for people to spread panic, because users need facts, transparency and clear communication more than ever.
To the Bitget team and
@GracyBitget working through this: stay sharp, stay transparent and keep communicating with the community. Explain what happened, what has been secured, what is being investigated, and most importantly, what measures are being put in place to prevent a repeat.
For the crypto industry as a whole, every major security incident should be a lesson.
The goal isn't to pretend that risks don't exist. The goal is to build systems resilient enough to withstand them, respond quickly when something goes wrong, and maintain user trust through transparency and accountability.
The community is watching how Bitget handles this from here.
I hope the team comes through stronger, and I hope the industry learns from it.
Shalom 🙏
