Copyright infringement from AI is such a terrible thing. Do NOT open source your codebases people. Maintain your trade secrets and do not release symbols. Protect yourself better than this.

"I think ecologists need to be much more concerned by the wave of proudly-ignorant anti-mosquito technology campaigns coming."
I think ecologists need to be much more concerned by the wave of proudly-ignorant anti-mosquito technology campaigns coming. It’s one thing to smartly apply biocontrol where necessary to reduce disease, it’s another to try to eliminate an entire family of insects for all time.

gonna disagree on squats (back and zercher squats are great lifts). deadlifts are a lot of fun and feel powerful but I'm currently favoring single-arm and zercher deadlifts for muscle development with less CNS strain. (I like to balance optimal and fun for my lifts)

nice thing about natty gains is they're hard to lose unless you completely stop training for an extended period of time, and even then they come back relatively quickly once you start training again

I've started to enjoy running, which is not something I ever expected to be able to say.

Got busy and completely forgot to write the follow-up to my initial blog post. I am still busy, but I will try to make time to work on it in the background and maybe it'll be useful to someone when it's done.

for getting around the unused discard, you can use _ = &foo; that will silence both the unused variable and the unused discard if you do later use the variable the unused variable error is is still one of the most annoying things for me when using zig though

The correct bar placement is obviously on the right side. Bottom and top steal precious vertical space. Left side steals too much attention. Right side is where it belongs.

I haven't had time to switch off of it yet. I'm done with exams after this week, so I'm gonna try out Ark for personal projects. Might set up a gitea instance as well while I'm at it. I'll probably keep my github as a mirror, but I don't plan on keeping it my primary platform.

This is the same thing that annoys me most when writing Zig. Unused variables / unused local constants being a hard error is just so ridiculously annoying. Yes, I want to be able to know if there are unused variables and maybe have an option to make it an error. Opt-in though.
I don't know how but somehow Go's unused variable error is more annoying than Rust's borrow checker. That's quite an achievement.

I swear I can't go one semester without doing my final assignments at the absolute last minute. I keep up with or even ahead of deadlines for most of the semester but the final assignments are always last minute... and they're intermixed with exams too, so that's even more fun
